Q: Do I need a Doctor's referral?
A: No, a Doctor's referral is not required in order for you to book an appointment or receive treatment. If you do have a referral though, please bring it with you to your first appointment, along with any scans or test results you may have. Your physiotherapist will ensure your medical practitioner is kept up to date with your treatment plan and results.
Q: What should I wear?
A: A thorough assessment means your physiotherapist will need to see how your body is moving. Please bring shorts if we are treating your lower limb, or a singlet if you require treatment for your neck and shoulder area. Your treatment room is completely private, your comfort is our top priority and your physiotherapist will be mindful of this at all times.
Q: Do you bulk bill?
A: Private physiotherapy is not claimable under Medicare, however we offer a HICAPS facility which means you may claim from your private health fund at the time of consultation and pay only the remaining gap. Each health fund offers differing physiotherapy benefits so please contact yours directly should you have any questions regarding your gap payment.
Q: How many treatments will I need?
A: Your initial consultation and assessment will provide your physiotherapist with a guideline regarding how many sessions you may require. At Physio Atelier we pride ourselves on patient education and communication and will discuss these aspects of your treatment with you regularly. Our aim is to achieve your full recovery in as few treatments as possible whilst also educating you in ways you can avoid re-injury. We consider our job to be done when you don't need us anymore!
